What we do not collect

• No name, email address, phone number or account of any kind.
• No advertising identifier, and no advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
• No contacts and no location.
• No access to your photo library. You choose a photo with the system photo picker (Apple's on iPhone, Android's on Android), which hands the app only that one photo. Saving a result only adds a new image; the app cannot read your library.
• No cross-app or cross-site tracking.

Tools that run on your phone

Tools marked Free — such as Enhance, Fix Lighting, Remove Grain, Remove Background, Portrait Blur, Black & White, Vintage and Comic — run on the device — with Apple's own frameworks on iPhone, and with Google's ML Kit on Android. The photo is not uploaded and nothing about it is sent to us.

AI tools

Tools such as Restore Photo, Colourise, Unblur and Remove Object need an AI model. When you use one:

• The photo you chose is uploaded to our server at mend.fittestme.ai. The server reduces it to at most 1536 pixels on its longest side and re-encodes it, which removes most of the embedded metadata, such as location and camera details.
• Our server sends that photo, with an instruction for the tool you picked, to an AI image service, and stores the edited image it returns. If the tool asks you to describe something (for example, what to remove), those few words are sent too. The service is one of:
  • DeepInfra, running the FLUX model by Black Forest Labs — used for most edits. DeepInfra keeps the photo only in memory while it is processed, does not write it to disk or log it, and does not train on it (DeepInfra's data policy).
  • Google's Gemini API — used for some tools, such as Remove Object and Upscale, and as a backup when DeepInfra is unavailable. Google processes it under its Gemini API terms for paid services, under which it does not use the content to improve its products.
• The original photo and the result are deleted from our server automatically about 24 hours after upload. A record that the job happened — which tool, when, and whether it succeeded — is kept without the photo.

Device identifier

The app sends a random identifier with each request to our server, together with your time zone's offset from UTC: on iPhone the identifier Apple assigns to the app (the identifier for vendor), on Android a random number the app creates when it is first opened. We use it only to count your free AI edits for the day and to remember whether you have unlocked the app. It is not linked to your name or to any other app, and it changes when the app is reinstalled (on iPhone, when you delete every app from us).

Purchases

The one-time unlock is sold by Apple on iPhone and by Google Play on Android; we never see your payment details, Apple ID or Google account. When you buy it, the app sends us the purchase's transaction identifier (on Android, its purchase token) and product identifier, which we store against the device identifier so the unlock survives reinstalling the app.

What our server records

• Web server logs: the IP address, time, request and user agent (app and system version) of each request, kept for security and troubleshooting and deleted after 14 days.
• Usage and cost records for AI requests — which tool, how long it took and what it cost — with no photo and no device identifier.

Google ML Kit on Android

The on-device tools on Android use Google's ML Kit. The photo stays on the phone, but ML Kit may send Google diagnostic and usage information about its own performance, with device identifiers, as described in Google's ML Kit data disclosure.

Children

Mend is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

You can use every Free tool without anything leaving your phone.

Deleting your data

Photos you send to AI tools, their results and anything you typed for them are deleted on their own about 24 hours after upload, and web server logs after 14 days; there is nothing you need to do. To have the rest deleted — your device identifier's daily usage counts and any purchase record — email hello@speedui.ai with the subject “Mend data deletion” and, if you can, roughly when you last used an AI tool and on which phone, so we can find your records. We delete them within 30 days and reply to confirm. Deleting a purchase record means the unlock will not be restored automatically on a new install; it can still be restored from Apple or Google Play.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
