Recall · SpeedUI.ai LLC · last updated 17 October 2026
The short version. Recall collects nothing. Your recordings, transcripts and notes stay on your iPhone and Apple Watch. There is no account, no server, no cloud AI, no analytics and no ads. We never see your data.
What stays on your device
- Recordings you make on your iPhone or Apple Watch, stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone.
- Transcripts, made by Apple's on-device speech recognition. Recall requires on-device recognition and does not use Apple's speech servers; if your language can't be transcribed offline, the recording is kept without a transcript.
- Titles, summaries, tags and folders, made by Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence) or, on devices without it, by simple keyword rules running in the app.
- Typed notes and photos you add to notes.
Apple Watch
Recordings made on the watch are sent directly to your paired iPhone through Apple's Watch Connectivity, then deleted from the watch. They do not pass through any server of ours.
What we collect
Nothing. The app makes no network requests, contains no analytics or advertising code, and does not track you. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymous App Store statistics (such as download counts) as it does for every app.
Permissions
- Microphone — to record voice notes.
- Speech recognition — to transcribe them on your device.
- Camera — only if you take a photo for a note. Photos you pick from your library are chosen in Apple's picker; Recall sees only the ones you choose.
How Recall uses on-device AI is explained in its AI policy.
Deleting your data
Delete any note in the app (swipe left, or the menu on a note). Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device.
Children
Recall is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
