Privacy Policy
Tally · SpeedUI.ai LLC · last updated 24 October 2026
The short version. Tally collects nothing. Your receipts are read and stored on your phone (iPhone or Android). There is no account, no server, no analytics and no ads. We never see your receipts.
What stays on your device
- Receipt photos you scan or pick, stored in the app's private storage.
- What's read from them — store, date, amounts, tax, items — on iPhone by Apple's on-device text recognition and, where available, Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence), with simple rules in the app otherwise; on Android by Google's on-device ML Kit text recognition and rules in the app.
- Expenses you say or type, turned into text by the phone's on-device speech recognition (Apple's or Android's; Tally never uses a speech server).
Sending and exporting
When you choose to send a receipt to QuickBooks, Xero or another address, Tally opens your own email app with the photo attached; it goes from your email account to the address you entered. Exports (spreadsheet, PDF) are files on your device that you share where you choose. Tally itself never uploads anything.
What we collect
Nothing. The app makes no network requests of its own and contains no analytics or advertising code; the Android app doesn't even have permission to use the internet. Apple and Google may provide us with aggregate, anonymous store statistics as they do for every app.
Permissions
- Camera — to scan receipts (on Android, through Google's document scanner).
- Photos — only the receipt images you pick in the system photo picker.
- Microphone and speech recognition — only if you speak an expense.
Deleting your data
Delete any receipt in the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device.
AI
How Tally uses AI is explained in the AI policy.
